The Cottage is an intimate and secured memory care assisted living residence located on a beautifully landscaped campus along with the two Savannah Court assisted living communities. It offers a welcomed approach for those living with dementia, Alzheimer’s and related memory impairments. The Cottage was designed with every detail focused on enhancing independence for those with memory loss.

From the sun filled atrium to the variety of living rooms to the beautifully landscaped courtyard, and spacious dining room, there are many places for residents and their guests to enjoy. The inconspicuous electronic door control system allows for increased resident safety and is throughout all indoor and outdoor areas.

Special activities and support services are offered to provide the maximum quality of life for those with memory loss. We recognize that there are few options available to adult children and spouses who may be the primary caregiver for family members diagnosed with dementia.  By providing an alternative environment to a nursing home, The Garden offers a personalized family approach to meeting the needs of residents challenged with memory loss.

The Cottage has both private and semi-private apartments. There are many areas for activities which are abundant throughout the day! The common areas and corridors are spacious so there is lots of room for walking, relaxing or socializing with friends and neighbors. In the dining room, our associates serve three healthy restaurant style meals per day and snacks are also provided between meals.

At Savannah Cottage, our focus is 100% dedicated to those with memory loss because we understand the challenges, changes and difficulties of dementia. The “Three S’s” are the core of our activities program - Structure, Stimulation and Socialization. The Activities Coordinator designs our daily programs to minimize frustration and enhance independence. We greatly respect the individual past experiences and preferences of each resident and update our activities frequently. Many of residents benefit and enjoy music, so we have made sing-a-longs and musical performances a huge part of the day. Whether it’s the morning arm chair exercise group, an interactive crafts class, the daily news or an afternoon children’s performance, our residents have plenty to keep them busy.

The associates of The Cottage understand that a person with Alzheimer’s disease has the same basic needs as all other residents; love, understanding, security, and a sense of dignity. Our associates are well trained, caring and accessible 24 hours per day.
